Writing Workshop

Week 1: April 2 to April 7 (20/120 points)

  • This work must be completed by April 7 (11:59pm, EST).
  • By April 2, you will have been placed into a Writing Workshop Group.
  • Login to our class site inside Blackboard Learn.
  • Click on the link for the Writing Workshop discussion board and find your Writing Workshop Discussion Group.
  • Post a message for your group:
    • introduce yourself to your group
    • share your KSU email address with everyone in the group
    • share a little bit (2-3 sentences) about your writing strengths and weaknesses: list two strengths and two weaknesses.

Week 2: April 8 to April 14 (25/120 points)

  • This work must be completed by April 14 (11:59pm, EST).
  • Share  your Essay One with the members of your group.  You must share the original document that you submitted to me!
  • In the Writing Workshop discussion board, share your ideas for your Essay Four (roughly 300 words):
    • the book you are writing about
    • roughly 200 words of your thoughts about that book
    • the other works you are thinking of using (even if you are not sure how, yet).

Week 3: April 15 to April 21 (25/120 points)

  • This work must be completed by April 21 (11:59pm, EST).
  • Essay Four Help
    • In the Writing Workshop discussion board, respond to your partners’ ideas for their Essay Four papers.  Provide them with suggestions, encouragement, and other help in developing their papers.
    • There should be at least 2 short posts (50-100 words each) by each group member, demonstrating a genuine discussion of ideas for developing the paper.
  • Essay One Revision Help
    • In the Writing Workshop discussion board, and on the actual documents (highlight the area and then Insert Comment), provide the following kinds of feedback for each of your partner’s Essay One papers: suggestions for development, unity and organization — based upon the Essay One Revision directions.  Do not correct grammar or formatting!
    • There should be at least 2 short posts (50-100 words each) by each group member, demonstrating a genuine discussion of ideas for developing the paper.

Week 4: April 22 to April 28 (25/120 points)

  • This work must be completed by April 22 (11:59pm, EST).
    • Essay Four Help (Continued)
      • Continue the discussion of  your partners’ ideas for their Essay Four papers.  Continue to provide them with suggestions, encouragement, and other help in developing their papers.
      • There should be at least 2 short posts (50-100 words each) by each group member, demonstrating a genuine discussion of ideas for developing the paper.
    • Essay One Revision Help (Continued)
      • In the Writing Workshop discussion board, continue discussion of Essay One Revisions.
      • There should be at least 2 short posts (50-100 words each) by each group member, demonstrating a genuine discussion of ideas for developing the paper.

Week 5: April 29 to May 5 (25/120 points)

  • This work must be completed by May 5 (11:59pm, EST).
  • Essay Four Help (Continued)
    • Continue the discussion of  your partners’ ideas for their Essay Four papers.  Continue to provide them with suggestions, encouragement, and other help in developing their papers.
    • There should be at least 2 short posts (50-100 words each) by each group member, demonstrating a genuine discussion of ideas for developing the paper.
  • Essay One Revision Help (Continued)
    • In the Writing Workshop discussion board, continue discussion of Essay One Revisions.
    • There should be at least 2 short posts (50-100 words each) by each group member, demonstrating a genuine discussion of ideas for developing the paper.
